I worked in the restaurant industry for years and loved the creativity and detail that went into something small and quickly discarded; like a wine cork. I started collecting my favorite corks with no idea what I would do with them. After moving 6 times, I decided to redo my backsplash with the corks I had been carrying around with me for years. These discarded pieces of trash brought warmth, creativity, and joy to my kitchen - and it even turned out to be quite practical in holding up recipes as well!
