Reflections from the artist:

Since I was young, I’ve identified as a Phoenix—like Jean Grey in X-Men. There’s beauty and terror in the burning stage. Fierce, messy, painful, and deeply necessary. 

Recently, I burned it all down. It was messy, painful and absolutely vital. My inferno.

Now? I am mending. I’m growing new wings - new feathers- and oh my goodness, are they stunning.

This stage of rebirth is just as powerful as the fire, but quieter. Gentler.
This is a new era I’m in.
